My Story & Mission: Bridging Professional Expertise with Real-Life Understanding
Hi, I'm Hilary Anand, and I'm a licensed psychologist and ADHD specialist with a deep passion for helping teens and young adults with learning disabilities and ADHD navigate their unique paths to success. My journey into this specialized field isn't just professional; it's deeply personal. As a neurodivergent mom of neurodivergent children, as well as someone who spent most of her training as a psychologist doing LD/ADHD assessments and working with teenagers and young adults, I intimately understand the complexities and triumphs that come with supporting them through their crucial developmental stages.
I've spent years in the trenches, conducting comprehensive ADHD assessments and LD testing, writing detailed reports, and witnessing firsthand the challenges families face as their bright, capable teens prepare for college, vocational training, or the workforce. The long wait times for evaluations, the confusion of interpreting complex reports, and the daunting task of securing appropriate college accommodations for ADHD students or LD support roadmap can be overwhelming. My mission is to translate complex psychological insights into practical, actionable strategies that empower both parents and young adults.
My Expertise & Approach: Clarity, Strategy, and Empowerment
As a psychologist specializing in learning disability support and ADHD, my approach is rooted in a deep understanding of cognitive and behavioral science. I bring a unique blend of clinical rigor and empathetic, real-world practicality. I focus on:
- Demystifying Assessments: Helping parents understand the "what" and "why" behind psychoeducational reports, turning jargon into clear, actionable insights.
- Mastering Executive Functions: Providing concrete, evidence-based strategies to improve focus, organization, time management, and procrastination help for teens and young adults.
- Navigating Transitions: Guiding families through the critical High School to College Transition Checklist, ensuring a smoother path to post-secondary education or career.
- Fostering Self-Advocacy: Equipping young adults with the essential self-advocacy skills for college students with disabilities and beyond, so they can confidently communicate their needs and strengths.
I believe in a strengths-based perspective, helping neurodivergent individuals and their families recognize their incredible potential and build practical tools for thriving in a world that isn't always designed for their unique brains.
Let's build a brighter future together
Whether you're a parent seeking clarity on an ADHD transition plan for your teen, or a parent wanting support in the post-report receiving process you're in the right place. My goal is to provide the learning disability support and ADHD guidance you need to transform challenges into triumphs.
